Outdoor wooden hot tub

Are you looking for the perfect oasis to wash over you? Crafting a spa retreat within your landscape could be the perfect answer. Envision yourself walking through a perfectly lit garden, decked areas adorned by flourishing fragrances and soothing aromas to help you unwind.

We sometimes sculpt our landscapes following traditional styles. Yet within our homes, we tailor the space to our exact tastes and preferences. Perhaps our gardens should be viewed in the same way? Are you making the most of your landscape?

Our experienced in-house landscaping and design team can create smart and stylish designs that enhance and maximise the potential of your outdoor space. Natural retreats for rest and recuperation, come with us as we show you how our team landscape striking spa-scapes.

Decked out

Decking offers a level area to place your spa’tacular choices of relaxation.

Landscaping a decked area requires careful attention to both functional and aesthetic aspects. Initially, we assess the landscape, either building upon or levelling the terrain to create a flat, terraced area for the deck. Ensuring structural integrity is paramount, often involving reinforcing the foundation. This ensures stability for features like saunas, showers, hot tubs and seating, ensuring they are comfortably accommodated within the space.

You are left with an area which can now be used to create your outdoor spa, whether that be with a wood fired hot tub, plunge pool, pergola, dining and seating area. There are limitless possibilities to suit every individual.

Wood fired hot tubs and plunge pools

What spa is complete without somewhere to soak away those stresses?

Imagine strolling through a lush garden, where every corner offers a new delight for the senses. Nestled amongst vibrant foliage and fragrant blooms sits a secluded oasis – Maybe a wood fired hot tub, beckoning you to unwind and luxuriate in its warm embrace. Alternatively, plunge pools has been growing in popularity and can offer alternative benefits.

A tranquil corner of the garden. We can design seamlessly to fit into the surrounding natural landscape. Wooden panels that blend harmoniously with the surrounding trees and foliage. Adorned with soft lighting, inviting you to step in and indulge. Steam rises gently from the water, carrying with it the soothing scent of essential oils. Dappled sunlight filters through the canopy of leaves overhead.

You dip your toes into the warm water, feeling the tension in your muscles begin to melt away. Lowering yourself into the soothing embrace of the hot tub, sinking into the comfortable seats and letting the warm bubbles envelop you in their gentle massage.

As you lean back and close your eyes, you listen to the gentle rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds, feeling completely at peace in this tranquil garden sanctuary. In the peace of your own garden, there is no need to keep glancing at the clock or to check what time it is, you don’t need to share the space, there are no distractions of chatter. It’s just you and nature, unfurling and unwinding together.

Garden baths

Another option to consider is the use of an outdoor bath. These can offer a different sleek style to your garden.

To craft a bath, our team initiates the excavation process as the first step. This requires meticulous planning to achieve the desired depth and shape while considering drainage and structural integrity. Reinforcement of the surrounding area with retaining walls or durable materials is essential to prevent soil erosion and provide support for the bath’s weight. Waterproofing the interior surfaces and installing effective drainage systems are crucial to prevent water damage and ensure efficient water flow.

When it comes to the bath itself, there are numerous options to explore. While a traditional acrylic bath is a popular choice, there’s no need to limit oneself. Bath materials such as wood, stone, concrete and steel offer unique aesthetic possibilities. Notably, copper stands out for its ability to undergo an oxidation process over time, blending harmoniously with the surrounding natural elements and evolving beautifully with age.

Unwind Under the Open Sky

Step onto a decked area which has been meticulously laid. Wood offers such a range of textures and tones which can harmonise with the landscape. Here, seamlessly integrated into the wooden deck, you can position your heavenly bath. This could be sat on top of the decking, or consider sinking the bath into the landscape.

Elegantly crafted, with smooth edges and clean lines, blending harmoniously with its surroundings. As you descend the steps into the bath, you are enveloped by warmth and comfort. The water, heated to the perfect temperature, invites you to unwind. Above, the sun shines down, and the sound of nature fills the air, adding to the sense of serenity and connection to your surroundings.

In this bath, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors, you find a moment of peace and rejuvenation—a sanctuary where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in pure relaxation.

These baths can also be used as an ice bath, known to bring great benefits to our health.

Sauna

A Scandi-style sauna is calling your name. The structure itself offers a focal point to the landscape. From pod shaped, to sleek structures with elegant glass. Allowing you to soak in your beautiful surroundings whilst sitting back and enjoying the warm heat whilst those menthol scents awaken your senses.

Final Flourish

Before making your way back indoors after your soothing home spa experience, a hanging chair awaits you. Swaying in the gentle summer breeze. A space to dry off from the spa, with a warm herbal tea in hand. Sit back and watch the sun set as you admire the night sky, offering you a new view of your landscape. Pontoon lights that have been placed to follow the beams of the pergola, are a charming design technique that can be used too to further enhance the calming notion of your garden.

Why not add a water features to offer that soothing sound of water. Enchanting us with it’s symphony.

Planting

Planting schemes designed around the ‘spa-style’ can be crafted to further indulge your mind, body and soul. Rich lavender scents help relieve the stress of the week, whilst chamomile and peppermint can be used to make a variety of herbal teas. Why not enrich your skincare regime with the introduction of aloe vera. And what outdoor spa would be truly complete without eucalyptus and lemongrass scents filling the air?

These plants can be seamlessly integrated into your spa garden, through landscaping or potted arrangements, enhancing the overall ambiance and offering additional therapeutic benefits. From sunken beds within the decked areas to raised beds positioned on top,the design phase of the project allows our creative ideas to align with your vision and preferences.

A perfectly placed pergola that can be used as a structure to allow climbers to flourish. Wisteria, a mesmerising addition to any landscape, waterfalls of glorious purples, white or pink shades swaying gently in the breeze. Jasmine offers both beautiful flora but also adds a wonderful perfume to the air. A pergola can be placed effortlessly on the decked area, with a  hot tub neatly placed adjacent.
