Spring is just around the corner! With the warmer weather on the approach, it’s time to start filling your diary with an assortment of glorious garden-based activities and events.

If you’re looking to head outdoors with all the family this spring, then this is the guide for you. With our landscapes beginning to burst into fruition, spring is a magnificent time of year within the garden. As bulbs shoot skyward, leaves unfurl and flowers begin to bloom, spring is a truly spectacular season, where pollinators awaken and garden wildlife begins to reappear.

Whilst our gardens jump into action and the temperatures begins to warm, heading outdoors is the best way to immerse yourself within the joy of spring. Start planning your spring diary with these spectacular spring garden events below.

Waddesdon Manor 

Spring at Waddesdon Manor is a truly magnificent sight. Open Wednesday-Sunday, the grounds and gardens at Waddesdon Manor are a fascinating place to head to on a glorious spring day. The perfect location to take in your surroundings and embark on a leisurely stroll, Waddesdon Manor is a truly idyllic estate, with features for all the family to enjoy.

Snowdrops, daffodils and many other springtime bulbs will soon be bursting into fruition, so make sure to grab your tickets here.

A private park and tranquil woodland, Waddesdon Manor will also be offering exclusive garden tours to Eythrope Parkland this spring. Including an insightful garden tour of Eythrope, two-course lunch and grounds admission to Waddesdon Manor too, the spring tours are an event that you don’t want to miss! Flourishing an abundance of seasonal blooms, such as tulips in March and cherry blossoms in April, the gardens at Eythrope are a truly wonderful and must-see spring spectacle.

Worton Kitchen Garden

Based on a beautiful Oxfordshire farm, Worton Kitchen Garden is an incredibly tranquil and picturesque location that you need to put on your to-do list this spring. Open 10am-4pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 10am-10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, Worton Kitchen Garden has a beautiful restaurant, farm shop and garden for you and your family to explore.

This spring, Worton will be hosting a fascinating tulip workshop with writer, horticulturist and florist, Arthur Parkinson. Demonstrating how to best grow and tend to your tulips, this informative workshop will ensure that you leave knowing how to best look after your tulips whether you are growing them in containers or within the ground. Waterperry Gardens

Located just outside Oxford city centre you can find the wonderful Waterperry Gardens. Boasting beautiful ornamental gardens, shops and play areas, there are a range of features and attractions at Waterperry for all the family to enjoy.

This Easter, why not head over to Waterperry for The Big Easter Bunny Hunt. Running from Saturday 29th March-Monday 21st April, this event is garunteed to put a smile on your little one’s faces. For this activity, you’ll be given a map and tasked with the mission to find all of the Waterperry bunny’s missing carrots, which he has dropped throughout the gardens and grounds.

On Tuesday 11th March, Waterperry Gardens will be open especially for The National Garden Scheme. With all entry fees helping to support NGS charities, this event is a fantastic way to explore the glorious gardens at Waterperry in support of the fabulous establishment that is The National Garden Scheme.
