If you’re looking for a cocktail that is going to indulge your autumn feeling then look no further!
Your kitchen garden fruit and veg shouldn’t be limited to preparing meals for the table but rather should extend to homemade botanical cocktails to enjoy as the evenings begin to draw to a close. There is nothing better than being able to pick your blackberries and pears from your own kitchen garden designed by one of our team!
This cocktail sets an even tone between the sweet and tangy blackberries and the fragrant citrus notes the pear has to offer. Finished and garnished with the refreshing yet subtle taste of mint.
Ingredients (for two servings)
100 ml of vodka (Absolut Vodka, Grey Goose or Smirnoff recommended)
8 Blackberries
2 Pears
12 sprigs of mint
20ml simple syrup (add to taste) – this can be stored for up to 2-3 weeks in the fridge
To garnish:
2 sprigs of mint
2 blackberries
Instructions:
Step 1
To start, peel, core and then muddle the pear. Then, also muddle the blackberries.
Step 2
Add the chilled vodka, muddled blackberries, muddled pear, mint and syrup to a cocktail shaker with a generous handful of ice.
Step 3
Next, give your cocktail shaker a gentle shake to fuse the autumn fruit flavours and mint together. The cocktail shaker will totally emulsify the unified flavours together so that they won’t separate as easily whilst you sit back and enjoy your cocktail.
Step 4
Decant your fruity cocktail into a pair of delicate hi – ball glasses and garnish with a spring of mint and tasty blackberry in each.
Step 5
Now it’s time to head into your flourishing garden, take in the sweet smells and relax as autumn fast approaches!
