What’s new this year?
Over 100 years old, the Chelsea Flower Show is a traditional event, however, it is also an innovative celebration that advocates recognising fresh and upcoming trends throughout the world of horticulture. This year within the show gardens, you will be able to visit the first wheelchair-accessible garden design on Main Avenue. Horatio’s Garden, reflects the ambitions of the Horatio Garden Charity, to create immersive outdoor gardens within the NHS spinal injury centres.
In The Great Pavilion you will also be able to discover a number of new plants that are fresh off the press on the horticultural scene. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the newly bred Clematis ‘Tumaini’. Created by the Chelsea veteran Raymond J. Evison, this delightful pink bloom is a breathtaking plant that was bred by Mr Evison at his Clematis nursery in Guernsey.
This year for the first time ever before, The Chelsea Flower Show will be welcoming established fungi growers to the event. Mushrooms are the flowers of the fungus world, yet fungi growers have never actually been present at the show before until this year. Known for supplying a variety of grow-your-own mushroom kits, The Caley Bros will be educating Chelsea’s audiences on how easy it is to grow your very own gourmet mushrooms right at home. Imagine that? Fresh garden mushrooms at your fingertips!
