Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Around the Gardens

On the 6th of February this year, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee which marked her 70 years of service to the United Kingdom.

To celebrate this anniversary, communities around the UK have come together to celebrate this historic milestone together.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022 kicked off the Platinum Jubilee celebrations with a number of displays and show gardens dedicated to the historic achievement of Her Majesty The Queen.

Renowned florist Simon Lycett designed a bespoke sculptural portrait of Her Majesty in an official Platinum Jubilee shade of purple. Covered on both sides with an array of native British-grown tree branches with connecting inner shelves for the 70 terracotta pots, handmade in Warwickshire, it was planted with one of The Queen’s favourite plants –  Lily of the Valley.

Renowned for the wonderful display of roses in the Secret Garden that never fails to delight, this year’s garden featured a variety created especially to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Elizabeth (Ausmajesty) rose has a strong and sweet fragrance of Old Rose and lemon sherbet with pink-apricot petals.
